About Wonky Food Co.

The Wonky Food Company believes in equal rights for all fruit and veg!

No matter what size, shape or colour it’s the taste that counts, which is why they pack as much imperfect and surplus fruit and veg into their products as possible.

Launched in Oxfordshire in 2018, they sell their delicious food surplus relishes in the Midcounties Co-op, Ocado and via a growing network of independent delis, farm shops and artisan food stores.

They’re small, but growing, and have big ambitions to expand their product range and increase their impact by helping to tackle food waste.

Led by their 3 co-founders, they are a small business looking to expand their team for the first time. Having developed a great product and brand, and secured some major retail customers, they are now ready to scale the business and need some enthusiastic and hard-working team members to help them grow!

They are at a very exciting point in their journey, with lots of opportunities and business leads in the pipeline. But most importantly, they have the opportunity to make a difference. They believe in business as a force for good and are passionate about running their company as ethically and sustainably as possible. These values extend to how they treat each other – responsibly and respectfully.

Business Started.

​Started in Oxfordshire by brother and sister team, Ashley & John, and later joined by Laura.

Midcounties Co-op Launch.

​Launched range of food surplus relishes in the Midcounties Co-op as part of its ‘Best of our Counties’ range.

Ocado Listing & Online Shop

​Listed on Ocado and voted amongst the Thames Valley’s ’50 Game Changers’. Opened online shop and began to grow network of independent retailers.

Lockdown Support

​Launched food service range and as lockdown hit, lent support to Oxford Mutual Aid, contributing jars of relish for local food parcel deliveries.

Team Growth.

Accepted as part of the annual cohort for Feeding the City Accelerate, supporting the pick of the UK’s impact food and drink businesses. Growing the team via Foodchain. Watch this space.
