๐Ÿš€ As the business continues to grow, Langdon is looking to appoint a commercially minded Product Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of ingredient categories, driving supplier performance, inventory optimisation and commercial success.

The Opportunity

๐Ÿ“ˆ This is far more than a traditional purchasing role. It offers the opportunity to take ownership of product categories from sourcing through to inventory management and commercial support, acting as the key link between Procurement, Sales, Technical and Operations.

๐ŸŒ You'll build relationships with global suppliers, monitor international commodity markets, negotiate commercial agreements and help identify new sourcing opportunities, while ensuring products remain available, profitable and competitively positioned.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Planning also plays a significant part in the role, with responsibility for forecasting demand, managing replenishment, improving inventory performance and optimising purchasing parameters within the ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

๐Ÿค Manage supplier relationships across a designated product portfolio.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and supply agreements.

๐Ÿ“Š Monitor commodity markets, crop conditions and sourcing trends.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Review demand forecasts and manage replenishment requirements.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Optimise stock levels while reducing excess and slow-moving inventory.

๐ŸŒฑ Identify new sourcing opportunities and support supplier onboarding.

๐Ÿ“‹ Contribute to SKU rationalisation and dual-sourcing initiatives.

๐Ÿค Provide commercial and technical product support to Sales and customers.

๐Ÿ“Š Support pricing decisions, margin analysis and commercial planning.

๐Ÿ”„ Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Technical and Operations to improve overall business performance.

About You

โœ”๏ธ Experience within Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Product Management.

โœ”๏ธ Food industry experience within manufacturing, ingredients or FMCG.

โœ”๏ธ Strong supplier relationship management and commercial negotiation skills.

โœ”๏ธ Experience in inventory management, demand planning or supply planning.

โœ”๏ธ ERP/MRP systems experience (Microsoft D365 or similar preferred).

โœ”๏ธ Highly analytical with excellent Excel skills.

โญ Experience with herbs, spices, seasonings, commodity ingredients or international sourcing would be highly advantageous.
