Odysea are looking for a Food Technologist to join their passionate and growing technical team — someone who truly loves food, quality, and provenance.
THE ROLE:
As Food Technologist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring Odysea’s products are consistently outstanding in quality, safety, and compliance — across both branded and own-label ranges.
Reporting into the Technical Manager, you’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to protect and elevate the brand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
🥗 Customer & supplier technical management
📋 Maintaining and developing the Quality & Safety Management System (BRC)
🏭 Supplier liaison and overseas supplier visits
🏷️ Label approval & specification management
🧪 Internal product testing & sensory assessments
📦 Sample handling & technical administration
💻 Managing data via Salata (spec & labelling system)
ABOUT YOU:
✔️ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar food technical role
✔️ A true foodie — someone who knows what great quality looks, tastes & smells like
✔️ Mediterranean product knowledge (olives, olive oil, feta, yoghurt, honey) highly beneficial
✔️ Strong understanding of HACCP, BRC, UK & EU legislation
✔️ Confident working with UK retailer systems (e.g. Sainsbury’s, M&S, Waitrose)
✔️ Organised, proactive, calm under pressure & great communicator
✔️ Willingness to travel internationally (UK driving licence advantageous)
