🌐 THE ROLE
Helen Browning’s Organic is looking for a commercially minded, hands-on E-commerce & Digital Trading Manager to take full ownership of its WooCommerce website and grow it into a sustainable, profitable sales channel.
The online shop currently generates around £100k per year (c.30 orders per week) and is operating at break-even. Until now, it has been managed on a part-time basis. This role represents a step change in focus, ambition and accountability.
The objective is clear: grow online sales year on year, while improving profitability, trading discipline and operational effectiveness.
🚀 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a build-and-grow role with full ownership of the online channel. Own revenue growth, margin and contribution across the website, Set the strategy and deliver the detail — there is no e-commerce team and work closely with an external web agency and an internal colleague responsible for packing orders and managing stock.
The role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, accountability and hands-on delivery, rather than big teams or corporate scale.

Own day-to-day trading performance, forecasts and trading plans
Make decisions on ranging, pricing, promotions and merchandising
🛒 Website & Platform
Manage the WooCommerce site day to day
Improve conversion rate, average order value and customer journey
Brief and manage the external agency on fixes and development
✉️ Email & Digital
Own email marketing via Mailchimp, including campaigns and automations
Manage paid digital activity within agreed budgets
🤝 Operations & Experience
Align promotions with stock availability and fulfilment
Own the end-to-end online customer experience and continuous improvement
🧑💻 ABOUT YOU
Experience owning or significantly running an e-commerce channel
Strong knowledge of WooCommerce (or similar platforms)
Hands-on experience with Mailchimp or equivalent email tools
Commercial mindset and confidence working with numbers
Comfortable operating independently in a small business environment
Experience in food, drink or FMCG, growing early-stage channels, or SEO/CRO fundamentals would be a plus, but not essential.
