THE ROLE:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join their finance team. This role is pivotal in providing financial guidance and strategic support to their operations, production, and commercial departments.
You will have a strong background in management accounting, financial analysis, and business partnering, with specific experience in food manufacturing or related industries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
📊 Financial Planning and Analysis:
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for the operations and commercial functions.
Analyse financial performance against key business metrics and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.
💼 Management Accounting:
Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary, for operations and commercial departments.
Monitor and report on cost of goods sold (COGS), manufacturing variances, and operational efficiencies.
🤝 Business Partnering:
Collaborate closely with operations and production teams to understand cost drivers, optimise processes, and support decision-making.
Partner with commercial teams to analyse pricing strategies, profitability by product line, and sales performance.
📈 Financial Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statements related to operations and commercial activities.
Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
🔧 Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improvements and cost efficiencies within operations and supply chain.
Implement financial controls and best practices to safeguard company assets and optimise resource allocation.
🔗 Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as supply chain, procurement, and sales to align financial goals with operational strategies.
Provide financial insights and support for new product development initiatives and capital investment projects.
ABOUT YOU:
🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Finance qualification preferred. Qualified by experience will also be considered.
📜 Proven experience in management accounting, financial planning & analysis, or similar roles within the food manufacturing industry.
💡 Strong understanding of manufacturing costing principles, inventory management, and supply chain dynamics.
🖥️ Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and ERP systems.
🔍 Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
🗣️ Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in business partnering and stakeholder management.
